Who we gave the care bags to: Elim Community Food Pantry

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our organization, we were able to donate 86 care bags to Elim Community Food Pantry. Elim Community Food Pantry has been dedicated to serving the local community for over a decade. Their mission is to provide food assistance to those who are and in need. UNICEF USA: The ongoing crisis in Gaza and Israel is taking a toll on innocent children who are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. UNICEF is on the ground, working tirelessly to provide essential supplies and assistance to those in need.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s mission is to research and prevent cancer along with aiding children with cancer. No individual receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.  In addition, no children are denied care for any reason.

Maui Strong Fund: The Maui strong fund has connections with local nonprofits in Maui. They are able to get funding to local organizations that help with a variety of causes ranging from disaster relief to food insecurity. Their mission is to provide imitate and long-term relief to the families impacted by the Maui wildfires.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was founded in 1977 to protect wildlife in Kenya. This organization’s mission is to protect against poaching, safeguard the natural environment, promote community awareness, protect against unfair treatment of wildlife, provide essential services to animals in need, rescue and take care of elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species so they can enjoy a quality of life in the wild they deserve.

The Salvation Army: Salvation Army collects various goods in order to benefit its Adult Rehabilitation Centers which offer a fresh start for those battling drug and alcohol addiction, providing them with the support and hope needed to rebuild their lives. In our June book drive we collected books and donated them to a local Salvation Army center.

Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust: Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust rescues, rehabilitates, and releases wildlife harmed by people. They also have a program of community outreach which helps educate many children and their families to how to co-exist with wildlife so no person or animal is harmed.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission is a great organization that tries to help those who are homeless and struggling in Coastal Connecticut by providing food, clothing, shelter, and recovery programs to those in need. This organization’s mission is to protect against poaching, safeguard the natural environment, promote community awareness, protect against unfair treatment of wildlife, provide essential services to animals in need, rescue and take care of elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species so they can enjoy a quality of life in the wild they deserve. We adopted 10 elephants in July with the help of Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. All elephants are funded for one year.

UNICEF USA: Due to the unprecedented invasion of Ukraine, VJD Initiatives has decided to donate to UNICEF to ensure that Ukraine's children have clean water, nutritional foods, health care, and education available to them.

Airlink: Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Airlink has been providing relief supplies for refugees in Ukraine along with others affected by crisis around the world. Airlink collaborates with 11 other non-profits to provide for the Ukrainian refugees.

AID India: Due to the impending COVID-19 crisis in India following a second wave of COVID-19, VJD Initiatives has decided to donate to AID India. AID India is an organization that promotes sustainable, equitable, and just development in India. Regarding the COVID crisis in India, AID India has focused its efforts on helping communities during these times by setting up COVID-19 care centers along with providing oxygen, oximeters, ventilators, and COVID-19 testing equipment.
